The SBE is an excellent gun. It WILL have a more noticable recoil than the Beretta though. I personally dont shoot a lot of 3.5 shells, but do like to have that option available. If you plan on playing any of the clay games along with hunting, beretta is a better option in my opinion. Extremely reliable much like it's benelli cousin, easy to clean and not necessary to clean very often, and a softer shooter than the benelli.The Beretta may be heavier but it will have considerably less recoil than the Benelli because of the Kickoff. The SBE 3 has had some issues in the past with shooting a high Point of impact, and Benelli does not doo mutch to help if you get stuck witha bad one. If you like Benelli's, I would look for a nice used SBE 2 before buying the 3.If you don't mind slightly higher recoil go with the Benelli , I like its simplicity & ease to clean , inertia system is formidable.
